Summer adventures

It seems like the summer only began and is rolling by so fast.  I had the pleasure of doing some fun stuff the past few weeks.  Alisha and I have started a tradition of traveling to see Emily and family for a few days in the summer. We did it last year and had fun so we decided to do it again.  Last year Emily drove us to a sunflower field to see the beauty but alas they had already bit the dust as it was so hot and dry.  This year we found them again.  They were not as lovely as we had hoped but we still enjoyed the adventure. (Sunflower farmer, next year could you weed your field and keep the gate open so we don't have to break in?  We enjoyed your flowers even though they were a little on the puny side.  Thanks for growing them.)

We walked with Gideon in the evening and enjoyed some fun conversations.

We watched 3 chick flicks that we've seen often but still love to watch.   Oh and we may have eaten brownies.

We enjoyed a trip to the beach but we didn't venture out too far in fear of loosing a limb. Nolan thought it was a little bright out there.  But enjoyed the adventure. Gideon cooked me a little meal on his grille one evening.

After the beach trip, Tom and I decided to take a day trip to the mountains of NC and escape the extreme heat for a few hours of mountain air.  It was a wonderful choice. The temperature was 67 degrees on the trail.
We enjoyed some amazing barbecue from Woodlands and some antique thrift shopping.  We hiked a few trails and saw God's amazing creativity on display.  Oh ,we invited Alisha along for the day and she made it so much fun. We had a few laughs,  I liked it.

Of all the trails of all the days I ran into my old friend Amy.  What are the chances of that!?!

The wild flowers were so pretty.

Tom and I have gone to the farmers market the past two saturdays and are enjoying some fresh grown vegetables and fruits.  They have amazing flowers too.

It's been fun going out with friends too.  I wish we did it more.  I love hanging out with people that make me laugh and that share spiritual thoughts and insight. Friends are worth so much.

Happy summering everyone.  Enjoy your family, friends, sunshine and pools.
