Conserving??

My mom and dad did a great job raising 8 children.  Yah you read that right, EIGHT!  I loved being in a big family.  In fact I felt sorry for my friends that were in small families. So you can imagine that they were careful with everything to make sure we were all fed and clothed.  We were taught from our childhood on to conserve.  "Don't let the water run while brushing your teeth.  Don't leave lights on when you leave a room. Don't waste food."  You may have been taught that too.  So as an adult I  still freak out when people are taking extra long showers or when Tom runs the water while brushing his teeth. I hate to see food wasted. And so on and so on........You get the picture.

I for the most part take very short showers and feel guilty when I do indulge and soak up the warmth from the water and just breath in the relaxation.  I was thinking this morning about how conservative my mom was and how now she is in heaven and our God has unlimited resources available to her.  She doesn't need to conserve any water.  She doesn't need to shut off any lights. She doesn't need to stress about wasting food or anything for that matter. She is with God who created everything and loves her. He is lavishing love on her in an unlimited supply and has unlimited resources of everything. I don't even know what that looks like but I love the thought of it. I believe she knows how to accept it and receive it now too.

I have always wanted my parents to indulge themselves or spoil themselves with something new. Just because I feel they deserved to with how hard both of them always worked.  To this day I haven't seen that very often if ever.  Even today I wish my dad would buy a new car or new TV or something to make his life better just because he wanted it.  But it just isn't in his nature to do it. He would rather give  what he has to his children and grandchildren. When he gets to heaven he will also have all that he wants which is Jesus. That will happen for all of us who believe in Jesus as our Savior.

No more conserving for any of us!!
